Ian tragically lost his life from the injuries he sustained in a motorbike accident, which was no fault of his own, as he was on his way to Belgium for the day with four fellow bikers.
Ian was a dedicated Christian and a devoted family man to his wife and four children.
He had numerous hobbies including a passion for motorbikes, model aircraft making, restoring old cars, karate and playing the guitar or drums for the church worship band.
He was a regular active member of the church and helped with monthly food runs for the homeless.
Ian had a wonderful sense of humour, loved life and lived it to the full.
Ian is truly missed by the many people who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration of Life for Ian was held on Tuesday 8th May 2007 at All Saint's Church in Woodford and over 450 people attended.

Missing you Ian at Christmas

A part of me died with you
for a long long while,
Laughter just abandoned me
i found it hard to smile.

Now i find with Christmas here
Everyone is trying,
To make me happy, but inside me
My heart and soul is crying.

How can I enjoy Christmas
without my Son by my side.
I`ll try my best but the heartache
will be very hard to to hide

I Love you with all my heart

With Love Dear Son at Christmas

There will be gifts to wrap for everyone
Right up to Christmas eve,
As they lie beneath the Christmas tree
it will be so hard to believe.

Your not still here with us
There,s that awful empty space,
The greatestChristmas gift of all
Would be just to see your face.

Yes everything is ready
All the jobs are done.
But Christmas will never be the same
Not without you Dear Son

in loving memory Ian,from your Mumand Dad x x x

No farewells were spoken,we
did not say goodbye,
you were gone before we knew
it and only God knows why.
You left us precious memories
that made us laugh and cry,
but the love you planted in our
hearts no millionaire can buy.
If tears could build a stairway
and memories a lane,
we would walk right up to
Heaven, and bring you home again.
All our love Ian
from your Mum,Dad,Sharon,Paul and Steven

Happy Birthday In Heaven - by Winnie Lovett

"Happy Birthday Ian"
It's sure to be the best one yet,
Though you left us here behind.
Did you think that we'd forget?

Your cake this year, will surely be,
A beauty to behold.
With the icing made of Silver,
And the candles made of Gold.

Yes, your birthday in Heaven,
Will be such a grand affair.
And I know you'll look so lovely,
With a halo in your hair.

The Angels will come from everywhere,
To sing your birthday song.
And I know they'll be so happy,
That you've joined, God's Happy Throng.

No I can't send a card this year,
Or give a gift so fine.
So I'll just send a special prayer,
To that wonderful Brother of yours.

Brother - By Debbie Burgess

A Brother is a special gift,
One you think will stay.
You never think the time will come,
When he is called away.

But when the moment comes,
And you never said goodbye.
The pain overwhelms you,
And all you do is cry.

You laughed with me in good times,
And cried with me, when sad.
You always went without for me,
You gave me all you had.

You taught me many things in life,
That I would have to do.
But, Brother, you never taught me,
How to cope with losing you.

MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR LOVING FAMILY/FRIENDS, YOUR IN GODS SAFE HANDS, GOD BLESS, SLEEP WELL IAN X
